What changes the price of a part-time cleaner

Hours and minimum booking. Minimum bookings range from 2 to 3 hours. Luce and Helperoo, for example, have a 3-hour minimum, so a "cheap" hourly rate can still mean a bigger bill per visit.

Weekly vs one-off. Many providers are set up around regular weekly cleaning, and a recurring booking usually keeps the same cleaner. What's included also differs: at Sureclean, a standard weekly session includes laundry, ironing and changing bedsheets.

GST and fees. Home Cleaning SG and Helperoo quote before GST, Helpling adds a $3.90 fee, and A1 Cleaning Services quotes its rate nett. Some providers also add weekend or transport fees.

Timing. Luce offers cheap last-minute slots, and SuperClean SG includes free ironing on evening slots.

Monthly packages and contracts. Auntie Cleaner sells monthly packages from $370 for a 3-hour package, and A1 Cleaning Services gives new customers 50% off a first monthly package. Read the terms first: Home Cleaning SG plans run on an auto-renewing contract with a notice period, and some prepaid packages can't be refunded or cancelled.

How to compare the final price of a cleaner

The simplest fix is to ask each provider for the all-in price of one session at the length you need, including GST, any platform or booking fee, and any weekend surcharge. Then check the minimum booking, whether you need to provide the cleaning supplies (Helpling and Luce expect you to), and what happens if you cancel or want to stop a package.

If you want a regular housekeeper at a low starting rate, Nimbus Homes, our top pick, starts from $16/hr, and its app lets you choose the housekeeper you want.

Is deep cleaning priced the same way?

No. Deep cleaning is usually priced by home size rather than by the hour, with a crew bringing its own equipment. On our deep cleaning list, an HDB flat typically costs a few hundred dollars, rising with the number of rooms, and post-renovation cleaning usually costs more. Nimbus Homes, for example, starts from $300 for a 2-room HDB.
