Helpling vs Urban Company: Which Suits You? (2026)
Two of the biggest cleaning platforms in Singapore, side by side: what they cost, how booking works and who each one suits.
Quick verdict
Both are big app-based platforms, and both can get you a good cleaner. Helpling is the better fit for regular weekly cleaning with a housekeeper you rebook week after week, which is why it sits at #2 on our home cleaning list. Urban Company, at #3, is handy for an occasional clean, especially if you already use the app for other home services.
Helpling vs Urban Company at a glance
| # | Platform | Booking | Best for | From |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | Helpling | App or website, card payment | Regular weekly cleaning with a housekeeper you rebook | $21/hr + $3.90 fee |
| 3 | Urban Company | App or website, pay in app | Occasional cleans, plus other home services in one app | $38 for 2 hours |
Other services: Helpling also offers deep, move-in/out and post-renovation cleaning, aircon, handyman work and elderly care. Urban Company covers deep and upholstery cleaning, ironing and laundry, aircon, handyman work, car washing and at-home beauty.
Helpling: prices, booking and what's covered
Helpling has been running since 2015 and is one of the largest home-services platforms in Singapore. When we last checked, weekly or fortnightly cleaning started from $21/hr and one-off cleaning from $24/hr, with a $3.90 platform fee on every booking and a $10 surcharge on Friday, Saturday and Sunday slots. Evening slots were discounted.
You enter your postal code, pick a date and send a request in the app or on the website, then get an email once it's confirmed. Payment is by card, and you can change bookings in the app. For regular cleaning, you provide the supplies.
Many regular customers praise a specific housekeeper by name. As with most platforms, quality can vary from cleaner to cleaner, so once you find one you like, keeping that weekly slot is the way to get the best out of it.
Urban Company: prices, booking and what's covered
Urban Company is the Singapore arm of a large home-services platform. Regular cleaning is priced per session: $38 for 2 hours, $57 for 3 hours and $69 for 4 hours when we last checked, with a "Premium House Help" plan from $69 for 3 hours. One-off prices show once you start a booking.
You book, pay, cancel and reschedule in the app or on the website. The cleaner brings the cleaning solutions, first-time customers are assigned a highly rated cleaner, and you can rebook a cleaner you rated five stars. Cancelling a regular plan before four sessions are done carries a $40 charge.
Reviews often praise friendly, hardworking cleaners. Being a marketplace, it can be a little less predictable for a fixed weekly slot, with some customers mentioning a cleaner swapped at short notice.
Neither platform says clearly whether GST is included, so check the final amount at checkout.
Should I choose Helpling or Urban Company?
Pick Helpling if you want the same housekeeper every week or fortnight, plenty of housekeepers to choose from, and lower weekday or evening rates.
Pick Urban Company if you only need a clean now and then, like having the cleaning products brought for you, or already use the app for aircon, handyman or beauty services.
